Our Progress

Our progress for the last two years has been remarkable. We have increased our engagement, launched new programs, and brought in more than 1200 participants. All of this success is due to the hard work of our team and the commitment to excellence that we strive for every day. Our goal is to continue this upward trend and create even more opportunities for growth moving forward.

Trauma Education

  • The program focuses on raising awareness of the impact of traumatic experiences on individuals and communities. It promotes effective response and recovery strategies, indicating a proactive approach to dealing with trauma, which could include educational resources, support systems, and professional guidance.

En-Game Support Group for Men

  • This is a specialized support group intended for men. A support for men who are dealing with phases of certain life events or challenges, such as the end of a career, relationship, or other significant changes. It indicates a targeted approach to providing support and resources for men in transitional or critical life stages.

Over the past two years, our programs have experienced remarkable growth, with the interaction in most programs doubling over time. This is due to integrating more research-based curriculums and activities and our focus on collaborative learning. We aim to continue this growth trajectory and provide even better opportunities for our community. Our commitment to social justice and equity is entrenched in our mission statement and guiding principles as we work with our community partners, families, staff, and students.

School

  • The program offers youth services to schools within Cook County. This implies an engagement with the educational institutions in the region, aiming to support the younger population through various services that could range from educational assistance to mental health support.

Community Program

  • This consists of a variety of initiatives that are specifically designed to cater to the unique needs and interests of the community. It suggests a flexible approach, likely involving a range of activities or resources available to community members, possibly including workshops, seminars, and local events.

The group has shown effectiveness in both virtual and in-person. Meetings are generally held weekly. What have we learned from the last four years? One of the key concepts we have learned from the experience of this group is that it does not always benefit a person to have people say what they want to hear. With a variety of topics, being able to speak the truth is essential no matter how uncomfortable the conversation is. We challenge men to think differently, challenging a man’s mindset to think differently. Through alternative thinking, men can make better decisions for themselves and the community.
